Another Day in Paradise

Liz took these pictures of our property today.
Autumn is on it's way and Summer is definetly waning!

This is  from the top of the gondola looking at Kellogg, Idaho. Chuck sent this one as they continue to ATV all over the state!

PAX Trip 2013

Frank and Theresa and friends are taking a road trip to Seattle and here's a picture as they take off! They are going to a huge convention for video gamers and others  - quite an event - and they are staying at the Moore Inn, very old, kinda funky but affordable as PAX tickets (several thousand) sold out in one hour online and hotels there are expensive.

There's a boys' room and a girls' room - whew.

Sounds like a lot of fun!

Same' Ol Same'Ol

This is my absolutely favorite picture!

I've been asked a lot lately how my discs in my neck and back are doing, so I thought I'd do an update.(If you want to find out more about my injuries and treatment, go to "Labels" in the bottom right hand column of this blog and click "Spine" and scroll down.)

So far, the exercises, decompression, and traction have loosened up the muscles protecting the spine/neck and back, but the discs are still pinching my nerves and I have a lot of symptoms from that: vertigo, constant pain and stiffness in my neck, back and arms. I can't write at all - not even a shopping list -
as have no fine motor control.  The slurring speech and heavy eyelids are better - the nerves are shifting under the pinching and do change around a little, so my symptoms do change

When they do decompression I can feel the pinched nerves being pulled; and my tongue, eyes, ear, ARMS!, fingers, leg muscles all have tingling and nerve sensations. I have to keep moving, the discs harden after ten or so minutes of not moving and it becomes like a hard nail pinching the nerves instead of a fingertip, then my symptoms really become worse and more noticeable.

Sooooo...I'm still doing the exercises, machine decompressions, traction, chiropractor adjustments, physical therapy sessions and begging prayers and good thoughts!

My spirits are good, but I'm seriously limited as to what I can do physically, and I easily poop out! But what a life, huh?
Not my favorite picture! White being the worst, then red, orange, yellow, green, and blue being cool. Blue/Green is normal.  Ouch!

Happy Birthday Chloe!

Visiting Us

We have no pictures,  but Chuck and MikelAnn and their friends, Jim and Jill, stayed here for a few days this past weekend. We had a great visit and laughed a lot! What a perfect visit, they did some boating, and we ate good food and 'visited'.

Now they're ATV-ing in Idaho near Wallace and camping with their travel trailers. We've had some really wet, loud, and windy thunderstorms since they've left - but by the looks of this they're doing ok!

"This what the Bitterroot range looks like at over 5000!"

Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Today is the Feast Day of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a Holy Day of Obligation, when Catholics and many other Christians all over the world celebrate Christ's taking His Mother, the Virgin Mary, at her death, into Heaven. There are several other instances in scripture when God has taken or assumed people into Heaven upon their death, and not allowed their bodies to go through earthly corruption and decay, like Elias, or Moses.

Catholics all over the world, and especially in Catholic countries, celebrate this day with Mass, processions, cakes!, feasting and gathering together.

Happy Feast Day!

Frank just had his 25th Birthday, and the back of this photo is dated later that year, 12/88! It just doesn't feel like 25 years have gone by...

I'm organizing our photos into new frames and books. Every now and then I come up with 'old' beauties like this,  so I'll share them and family can 'save' them, if they want to.

Love It!

I stole this note from a friend's blog - love it!

Eagle Training Ground

Bob will try to get a picture of the Eagle that has either been living in our Spring Creek/Arena area, or is hunting there daily. Our neighbor has caught him on camera, and Bob has watched him hunt a few times, mostly he's after moles or prairie mice.

Often a parent Eagle, or Hawk, will train their young ones up high over our property. A couple of days ago Bob and Elmer watched this Eagle swoop down out of the higher trees in the Creek area and try to take a baby deer in his talons. The baby started screaming and the mom, who was a little ways away, ran after the Eagle and stomped at him repeatedly before taking off with the baby. Baby deer are big! He must have been brave or hungry!
Pictures soon we hope....
