Same Ole Same Ole

I saw my doctor yesterday and we had a very long, productive chat. The core of the talk was that I have a moderately severe injury causing "an array" of symptoms affecting a large area,  like in the picture below. Because the injury has been mis treated for so long, it's over 4 years old, it will take a long time to heal. Between now and year end, I'll continue to see the massage therapist to continue to soften the muscles around the shoulder injury, then the doctor will review and if I've leveled off he'll try some other technique. Right now the constant vertigo (not gunk related) and the involuntary squinting are the worst symptoms. I definitely can't  lift my arms without pain, and I'm very uncomfortable. If the  vertigo and squinting would stop I could manage. I can't write or paint and my right arm is weak and numb. The really hard part is that I have been sick continuously since July, and I've lost a lot of weight. 25-30 pounds. Having literally one virus after another on top of all of these nerve compression symptoms is very hard and has really taken a toll on me. Thanks to everyone's prayers, positive thinking and well wishes!

One of the blessings of going to this doctor at St.Like's Rehabilatation Center is I always see someone much worse off then I am - and they're usually younger too. Plus, the doctor and his staff don't treat me like my squinting, staggering,  slurring is weird, and the doctor is very funny.. So, still

plugging away here...

Big Bull Moose

We saw this big moose in town in a yard eating. Kinda rare to see a bull moose out at 1:30 pm. . Our neighbor has found evidence on our properties of a black bear. Here comes winter!

Shoulder Update

I've been to the medical massage therapist about 9 times. I'll see the Doctor on the 17th of November to add another rehabilitation step. I'm much more wobbly after softening the muscles of my shoulder/neck/upper back. The massage therapist has found and released quiite a few trigger points or muscle knots - I really felt them- but not "the one" yet.  On top of all of the vertigo, squinting, pain, etc., I have been getting one virus after another which makes the nerve symptoms worse of course!

One of the inflamed tendons I have is the sub- scapularis, which is next to the rib, sort of under the lower part of the  arm pit. The mt and I could really feel it or the nerve there move like it was twitching back and forth, which normally it doesn't do, so that was good, and it is very sore! So same ole! Still begging prayers and good thoughts! Happy Fall!

Me Again

You can copy and color this!

I'm into my medical massages, about appointment #5, and I feel better, but no miracles yet. Am catching a lot of viruses.
See the doctor on November 17th. One of the limitations I have from him is no computer or  sewing! That's why I am not on this blog very much. Still begging prayers and good thoughts. More later...Happy Birthday to all the family I've missed!

The Picture

Trigger points in this area cause an astonishing array of problems in the neck, head, chest, back, and arms!

More Nerve News

Finally got in to see the doctor who works for St. Luke's Rehabilitation Center today. So far I've seen 7 Physical Therapists, 2 medical doctors, a surgeon- shoulder specialist, 3 Nurse Practitioners, 2 Chiropractors and now this nerve doctor who has a specialty in rehabilitation.

I have a soft tissue injury as I stated, not a bone/disc/joint issue that has caused several of my trigger points in my neck, right side of my head/face, shoulder muscle, and back to knot up and cause all kinds of symptoms from my right side of my head to my fingertips  of my right hand and also my right leg.

I do not have - MS, ALS, strokes, Parkinson's disease or any overarching disease affecting my nerves. I had a gardening injury.

What he wants to try is a Massage Therapist first, to un knot these areas, then perhaps acupuncture or other therapies. But because this injury is so old it may take a while to fix me. So, good news and bad!
