Now Waiting...

I had my MR Arthogram or whatever it's called - today, everything went well - the injections, MRI machine, etc. It took a little longer than I expected though. I have an appointment Monday and I hope the results are in by then. The same procedure is to be done on my shoulder but I'm waiting for my insurance to approve it. Finally! One down, and hopefully both shoulders to go. I hope after these MRIs to have some definitive answers!

It's been beautiful - sunny, breezy, but tons of pollen, so we are hoping for some rain to "ground" the pollen!

I've been cross stitching on my Mom's block. Here's a picture.

Anniversaries of the Heart and The Little Sheep Flock

It's hard to believe that the holidays have flown past and I am back working on the 'Anniversaries' cross stitch.  Here's Mom's block in picture form, before I ripped the roof out.

Ripping...
Adding new roof...

While I was waiting for Judy to begin the Little Flock, I ripped out some eyelets I cross stitched and didn't like, on Mom's 'Anniversary' block on the roof, then just straight cross stitched the roof with the red color the pattern called for.

I also started 'The Little Sheep Flock and Virtues,' and Judy has started hers, and although I was worried that I didn't have enough fabric to fit the entire flock, 3 wide on it, they look like they'll fit after all.

I also made some sheep accessories: a thread keep, and a pin cushion with sheep pins. Love the 'black' sheep! Yes, it's the little things! Judy and I are keeping this very low key and non-competitive - no racing! Pictures of Little Flock cross stitch soon.

Charlie's Latest Art

My brother Charlie, in California, made the garden art below. He made some very creative gates, shown here.......

and a fence for our Mom.

He keeps an eye on her and her squirrels!

"Hi sherry
Here are a couple of garden art caricatures I made with rocks and metal
I got mom a wireless camera to keep an eye on the squirrels you could access it via the Internet after I set it up I'll send you the password
That should be fun
Love and my best to all
Charlie"

(What Charlie may not know is almost every week Liz sends me a great squirrel photo which I pass on to Mom via email. Here are just a few...aha... look under 'squirrel' on this blog for the back story....)

A Poem for a Squirrel

Since we're on the subject of squirrels, and it is Autumn, and apparently the squirrel(s) are still harassing Alta's yard items, I found this poem to celebrate 'the squirrel'.

His store of nuts and acorns now
The squirrel hastes to gain,
And sets his house in order for
The winter's dreary reign.
- Joyce Cary

So, Alta, maybe your backyard is in his way....

Charlie's Dog Lulu Comes to the Rescue!

How Cute!

Last month my Mom, Alta, went out in her backyard and found her outside cushions torn up and spread all over. The squirrels had apparently waged war on her, or her cushion stuffing.

Alta, Chester and Lulu.

Cushions are costly and she had never had problems like this with the neighborhood squirrels - although they did eat all her plums from her tree - a 'heads up' I would say! So she staged war on the squirrels - whatever that means to them!

Good Luck With That!

I think Grammie Alta's best bet is to get a Security Dog like my brother Charlie's Lulu, and have her sleep outside patrolling the backyard!

Mom's Puzzle!

Mom's completed puzzle - minus two pieces her dog Chester may have eaten! I may have to get out my next puzzle, but the garden is calling...
